You know how some people always say experience is the best teacher, then others say don’t wait till you experience before you learn? This is one of those statements that keeps us going back and forth so people just choose whichever they want to follow. Well, story story…
Classes upon classes, assignments upon assignments and it was just first week of virtual resumption. Then here’s me still trying to wrap my head around the fact that after five months of academic idleness, the work came in like it never left. There was this one assignment…
It was due in two weeks, so I just shoved it aside to do the more urgent ones. As usual, my mum wouldn’t give me breathing space about it. Finally, I decided to do it. Yayyy😒.
I gave this assignment all the energy and time I could afford on this particular night. Typing and doing as much research as I could and I finally finished it☺️.

“Ctrl + S”… I waited to rename my document. Tik tok, tik tok!
Microsoft Word closed. Heiiii!!
I tried to be a big girl and hold the tears trying to escape while I did all I could to recover the document… Nothing. There I was for thirty minutes, still…
*cricket 🦗 cricket*
Funny thing is I’ve heard to many similar stories of laptops shutting down while typing. Apparently, I’m supposed to save once I start typing and go on till I finish so I can at least have something to recover. Being the human I am with the “it will not happen to me in Jesus name” syndrome, I didn’t bother.
I had no plans on redoing that assignment 😂 because I wasn’t ready for that stress but I ended up doing it again. This time, who born me not so save every word I type😂?
Truth is that most of us have the “it will not happen to me in Jesus name” syndrome. There’s definitely nothing wrong with such faith but don’t be silly nauu, anything can happen. That’s why it’s life. Learn from the experience of others, it arms you for possible situations ahead. I know you want experience, calm down, you’ll have your own story to tell and you’ll be very strong to share. Just be wise 😊.
Time for my favourite part🤭… where I hear from you!!! Tell me about your stubborn times and lessons you learnt. I can’t wait to read🥳.
Lots of Jol-love,
Hephzibah
